Visiting Cabbage Island

Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not required but we strong recommend calling ahead as we sell out most days. Our ticket booth operates year round and we will be happy to help you with any reservations.
Do you accept credit or debit cards?
We accept only cash and check at the ticket booth, on the boat, at the bar and in the gift shop. We do not accept credit or debt cards.
Can I bring my dog?
No. Due to health code reasons, we ask you that leave your four legged friends at home.
Where do I park?
The Town of Boothbay Harbor has four municipal parking lots all conveniently located easily within walking distance to the downtown area including retail shops, restaurants, boat trips etc.
The locations of the parking lots are as follows:
Footbridge Parking Lot (next to the footbridge at the head of the harbor), Atlantic Avenue, Boothbay Harbor
Howard Street #1 Parking Lot (adjacent to Town Office), 11 Howard Street, Boothbay Harbor
Howard Street #2 Parking Lot (across from the Memorial Library.), 4 Oak St, Boothbay Harbor
The Oak Street Parking Lot (adjacent to Boothbay Harbor Post Office), 15 Oak St, Boothbay Harbor
No. We are a working waterfront and cannot accommodate personal watercraft of any kind.
Can I bring my own boat?
We do our best to accommodate and assist all of our guests however the boat and island are not handicap accessible.
Is the island handicap accessible?
No. We have liquor licenses on the boat and island and offer a full selection of beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No.We ask that all our guests come and go on the Bennie Alice. The island is a private residence and we ask that you respect the family’s privacy.
Can I visit the island without purchasing a clambake?
We do not offer lodging on the island but there are plenty of lodging options in the Boothbay Region. You can visit the Boothbay Chamber of Commerce Page for a full listing of Inns, B&Bs, Campgrounds, and Hotels in the area.
Is there lodging on the island?
Our chowder is dairy based but contains NO thickeners or flour. All of our vegetables for the clambake are cooked separately from any shellfish and chickens are prepared separately in the kitchen. Our cake does not contain nuts but it does contain gluten and dairy. For specific information about food allergens, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
